Textile Fresk

🌍 Understand the life cycle of your clothes and their impact on the planet. 🌍

INDITEX has already taken a step in this direction, do it too

Textiles are all around us – in our clothes, furniture, toys and even in our computers. But how much do we really know about them? What are fabrics made of? How far do our clothes travel before we buy them? And what happens to them after we donate or throw them away?

“Textiles UnTangled” (Textile Fresk) is an interactive and collaborative workshop inspired by the Climate Fresk methodology. It helps participants discover the complex social and environmental impacts of the textile industry in an engaging and accessible way.

Why participate?

  • Learn the truth: Follow the entire journey of a garment – from the extraction of raw materials (cotton, oil for synthetics) through production and transport to the end user and waste.
  • Realize the scale: Understand how the industry affects climate change, water consumption, microplastic pollution and workers’ rights.
  • Find solutions: Instead of just learning about the problems, you will work together with other participants to identify concrete actions and sustainable alternatives.

How does the workshop work?

The workshop is designed as a “serious game” and is divided into several key stages:

  1. Building the chain: Participants arrange cards to reproduce the textile production chain.
  2. Creativity and emotion: Visualizing the connections between the different stages and their consequences.
  3. Discussion and Action: Discussing solutions based on the “Doughnut Economics” model – for a society that prospers within ecological and social boundaries.

Who is it for?

For absolutely everyone! From people who simply wear clothes to professionals in the textile sector. The workshop is suitable for:

  • Individual participants who want to change their consumer habits.
  • Schools and universities who want to educate the younger generation.
  • Companies wishing to increase the environmental culture of their teams (already carried out in organizations such as Deloitte, Givenchy and Electrolux).

Become part of the movement! Over 3,800 people have already “unraveled” the truth about textiles. Join the next event and take the first step towards a fairer and more sustainable world.

Why it is important to work on the topic of climate change and what is the connection with carbon accounting, you can see in this presentation: link.
